Allen specializes in building performance simulations and analytics. His expertise spans energy modeling, energy code consulting, daylight analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermal transmission modeling, hygrothermal analysis, refrigeration modeling, and geothermal system studies. Allen collaborates closely with developers, owners, architects, MEP engineers, and project managers on large-scale commercial and industrial projects across the U.S. He has developed over 250 detailed whole-building simulation models, including some of the nation's largest recent developments, and has led energy code compliance submissions for projects in more than 40 states. He is a strong advocate for straightforward and practical energy codes and standards.
